Google gets deal with the biggest wireless carriers in the U.S.The Major part of the deal is that the Biggest wireless carriers of the U.S,Verizon Wireless,T-Mobile and AT&T will pre-install Google Wallet Payments App on their Android Phones in the U.S later this year.
This App allows users to tap their phones to pay at checkout.Its functionality is pretty similar to that of Apple Pay.
The partnership marks a great turn of events.One of the main reasons Google wallet never took off as a tap and play option, is because wireless carriers blocked the technology from working on their phones,Google then started working around that with a technology,HCE.This Technology grabs payment information from cloud over which Carriers have no control.
Google has also been involved in buying intellectual Technology from SoftCard.It sounds like it is all-over for Softcard even it said its users can use their App for now.It seems Google gets a marking deal because as said last week,Samsung is expected to announce it's own Payment App next month,which is called LoopPay
The Big Tech companies and Carriers seem to have got convinced that their Handsets will replace Wallets.
While all this allows Shoppers to have a Pre-installed Mobile Payment App on their Phones,Google must give people perfect reasons to go for this App rather than Swiping cards.
